kandace-redd-standupKandace Redd is a News Reporter and Producer at WAPT-TV 16 in Jackson, Mississippi.

Kandace comes to WAPT from WXVT-TV 15 in Greenville, MS, where she worked as the Morning News Anchor, Reporter, and Producer.

Before moving to the Mississippi Delta, she worked as a News Apprentice for WBZ-TV 4 in Boston, MA.

She began her journalism career as a News Intern for WTOP 103.5FM all-news radio station in Washington, D.C. Redd went on to work for WTTG-TV 5 in Washington as the Evening News Intern. She soon found herself at CBS News Washington Bureau under the “CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley” and Special Reports departments. As a Network Evening News Intern, she traveled with producers during President Barack Obama’s Jobs and Opportunities Tour.

Redd is a native of Los Angeles, California. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Howard University. She’s currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication at American University in Washington, D.C.

Kandace is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).

When she’s not chasing the latest news stories, Redd enjoys mentoring novice journalists nationwide.
